Mens Reserves Start Campaign in 10 Goal Thriller

Ilminster Town Reserves 5 - 5 Hemyock - Devon & Exeter Football League Division 5

Life in Division 5 started in bizarre fashion as the boys in blue gave away a lead on 4 occasions.

The game started well with David Miguel opening the scoring on the 3 minute mark but Hemyock pushed forward and took advantage of Ilminster's inability to keep possession and win the ball back after losing it.

Manager Govier said:
"We didn't perform anywhere close to the levels we can, we have faced much tougher opposition during pre season and have played a lot better, we scored some individual quality goals today but as a team we didn't retain the ball well enough especially in the blistering heat, and seemed lacklustre to win the ball back, I'd expect us to win 5-0 next time we play them.

We've introduced new players and have tried a new formation, it will take a couple weeks for everyone to be settled in to competitive competition but we definitely have the quality in the group to push for promotion when we keep to our style of play, today we was probably at 50% of what we can do and I am sure we will see an improvement next week".
