Colts End Hawkchurch Unbeaten Run

Ilminster Colts travelled to Hawkchurch with the bare bones with a number of players unavailable through injury and other commitments, manager Matthew Rowswell had to stand in between the stick with his assistant Dan Haines named as the only sub.

Despite the player shortage, the Colts had a strong starting XI and this was proved during a tight first half where the chances were evenly split with Matthew Rowswell making a number of good saves from tight angles.

The second half started in a similar vein, but it was Ilminster that managed to break on the counter attack with Warren Gabbidon scoring an excellent solo goal to give the Colts the lead.

Hawkchurch upped their game in response and it was clear to see how they have managed to remain undefeated in the league until now, despite the pressure though, the Colts managed to restrict the number of clear cut chances and see out the win.

This was a second win on the spin for the Colts with both coming at tough away grounds, the Colts are now looking up the league rather than down with two games to go before the Christmas break.

Man of the match went to the manager for a strong performance in goal.
