ILMINSTER TOWN UNDER18'S
Following our recent promotion and the upgrade of our facilities, which now includes floodlights and a stand, Ilminster Town Football Club is excited to announce the introduction of an under-18 team. This team will compete in the Western Counties Floodlit Youth League during the upcoming 2026/27 season.
Our aim is to build on the success of the Ilminster Town youth teams by providing talented young players with a clear pathway from youth football to our first team in the South West Peninsula League.
Currently, our youth teams conclude at the end of the Under-16 season, which means that 16-year-olds must transition directly into men's football to continue their journey with the club. While this may suit some players—especially those joining one of our three men's teams, including the A team in the Perry Street & District League Division 2, the Reserves in the Premier Division, and the first team—others may require more time to develop before stepping into senior football.
By establishing an under-18 team, we will offer these young athletes the opportunity to compete alongside their peers in a supportive environment, significantly enhancing their development. Importantly, players will still have the option to participate in men’s football on weekends, whether with Ilminster or other clubs.
We are also looking for more players to try out for the team. To register your interest, please fill out the Google Form https://forms.gle/F1X9DXmTVukEvrMS9. We will contact you closer to the time once a manager has been confirmed.
We look forward to hearing from you!
