Ilminster Town Ladies 11 - 0 Pen Mill Ladies

After a few weeks away from home, Ilminster found themselves back home playing in the league and with some great weather consisting of rain and wind this did not dampen Ilminsters spirits.
Ilminster called up a couple players to the squad firstly Dana Andrews earnt her second game for the 1st team after again impressing. Kath Parsons was also called up ready and raring to go. Lastly Ilminster called up 16 year old Tia Shoemark for her debut after some good recent performances for the reserve side.

Ilminster started the game the brighter with some brilliant passing and moving football however Pen Mill gave an early scare when they broke free on goal but Bond was there to deny. Ilminster then took control for the rest of the half and again playing some football Ilminster finally had the break through when Aimee Rowe finished a great cross. this seemed to settle Ilminster who continued to press and add more goals to the tally. Dee Cracknell was next to get a goal after some great work from Charlton this resulted in Cracknells first goal of 1st team football for Ilminster and was a reward for all her hard work. Adding to the tally to go in 5-0 up at half time was Alice who worked endlessly to give herself a much deserved 2 goals and a Sarah Roxburgh Corner whipped in with speed and height causing Pen Mills defense to panic and convert in there own net. However as the corner itself was on target to go in anyway Sarah Roxburgh took claim.

The second half Ilminster came out with some more determination however couldn't find the finishing product straight away. The pure persistence of Ilminster showed and they were again rewarded and the goals soon started flowing in for Ilminster. The Second half goals came from Jenny Frost who scored with a brilliant strike to add to her overall goal tally this season. Alice Charlton then made a nuisance of herself for the other team and got herself on the score sheet not once more or twice more another 3 goals all from good work between herself and Jenny Frost.
Aimee Rowe then followed up from her first half goal with another good finish leaving her just 1 away from her hat trick.

The last 2 goals came from Sarah Roxburgh who gained her second of the game when Ilminster were rewarded a free kick on the left side of the pitch around 30 yards out and Roxburgh took the opportunity with both hands and smashed the free kick over the wall curling it beautifully into the top right corner, a well earned goal for the returning midfielder after the last 2 games as center back. The last goal came when Jenny Frost picked up the ball and took a run at the defense and after beating multiple players cutting in towards goal Frost ended up at the near post and finished to give her second goal of the game.

The full time whistle blew leaving Ilminster with smiling faces after giving them another 3 points to take them to the top of the leader board again and on track for a good season.

Man of the match went to Emma Jennings who was at the time on a trip away with friends but made the journey back and put in an extremely good shift at the back deserving the award and after 90 minutes she was back on her journey to meet back up with friends.

Pamela went to Sarah Roxburgh for her stunning free kick.
Goals scored by Alice Charlton (4), Jenny Frost (2), Aimee Rowe (2), Sarah Roxburgh (2) and Dee Cracknell (1)
