Victoria Sports Ladies 0 - 12 Ilminster Ladies

After initially having 2 weeks without a game due to lack of fixtures Ilminster were raring to get the game underway. After a good warm up Ilminster were ready straight from the whistle. Within the first 10 minutes the game seemed to be quite even having chances for both teams one of which a one on one with Keeper Abbi Bond who stuck a leg out and denied Victoria sports.

It was Ilminster however who struck first through Alice Charlton, it seemed this was the point of interest when Ilminster continued pushing and dominating in possession causing Ilminster never to look back. Ilminster carried on playing some good passing football allowing them to score more freely again through the creative striking force of Charlton and Jenny Frost taking Ilminster to half time with a 3-0 lead.

After a detailed team chat Ilminster came out for the second half coming down hill and using the wings to good effect through Dee Cracknell and Lesley Spearing, And again more goals were hitting the net again through Charlton and Frost who were starting to find their feet again and seize their chances.

The next group of goals came from different players one of which Sarah Miller converting and then a stand out solo effort from Megan Purchase who ran from the halfway line to calmly chip the keeper in style. The other came from a Emma (Chopper) Jennings brilliant bullet header from a corner which nearly took the net off the goal. Lastly one of the Ilminster goals came from a superb calm and collective finish from Graziely Esperanca on her debut for the club.

Special mentions go to Sarah Roxburgh for her endless work rate and organizing within the midfield throughout the whole 90 minutes and Ilminsters defense made up of Emma Jennings, Chelsea Board and stand in defender Aimee Rowe due to their efforts in defense. Although not needed a lot when they were they produced tidy and calm defending to get the ball away.

Man of the Match went to Aimee Rowe for doing superbly well in an unknown position for herself.

Pamela went to Lesley Spearing who looked back on form with superb work down the wing producing pin point crosses.
