Ilminster travelled away to Mendip with a very depleted squad, bringing in Tia Shoemark and Kelly Andrews from the Reserve team squad to give Ilminster a bare 11 squad on the day.
Ilminster started well moving the ball but lacked any real penetration, so goal chances were few and far between, Ilminster did have a chance when Megan Purchase who produced a brilliant strike which just tipped over the bar. However Ilminster broke the deadlock when returnee Alice Charlton scored after 2 months away. Ilminster continued to put the pressure on however could not convert the chances leaving the score line a good but frustrating 1-0 at half time.
The second half saw Ilminster come out looking tired and disjointed and soon found themselves pegged back from a good solo effort. Ilminster carried on but the momentum was not in their favor, Mendip were rewarded a free kick which saw Keeper Abbi Bond put over the bar keeping the scores level.
This didn't seem to wake Ilminster up and they soon found themselves 2-1 behind, and at this stage Ilminster grouped together and decided they were not going to settle for the loss, after determination and with 5 minutes left Ilminster rallied and a free kick found its way through the defence for Charlton to latch onto who rounded the keeper and made no mistake in scoring to level the game and give Ilminster the hard fought point.
