Ilminster Town continued their run of good form with another away victory this time at Oakhampton Rangers, after finding themselves behind after 30 minutes, Josh Phillips equalised from the penalty spot within a couple of minutes before going behind, the other goals came from an unlikely source as Harry Manley doubled his previous tally for the Blues with a brace to give his side a 3-1 win.

Ilminster for once were slightly off the pace as they struggled to deal with the lively front three of Oakhampton in the opening ten minutes
Shay Allen was soon in action and had to be at his best as he kept it at 0-0 with a good save from a corner. Ilminster after around 15 minutes finally got themselves further forward when Josh Phillips and Taylor Jefferson linked well as Jefferson got in behind the defence only to see his effort go wide.

The home side then broke forward and with the defence losing concentration, they got through on goal with Josh Rowe finishing well from the edge of the box to give his side a 1-0 lead.

The response was excellent as a ball forward to Phillips saw him run towards the goal and as he cut inside the box he was brought down for a penalty. Phillips confidently picked up the ball and sent the keeper the wrong way to bring the scores level at 1-1.

The half time break gave Jason Behan and his backroom staff a chance to reorganize, they wanted the team to move higher up the pitch as well as being more on the front foot, and this paid dividends as with five minutes of the second period gone Harry Manley burst forward from right back got on the end of a long ball, with the keeper out of his goalkeeper Manley delightfully lobbed him to put his side in front 2-1.

Ten minutes later Sweet and Phillips combined with Phillips getting a shot off that was half cleared, Manley was following up to grab his second goal of the afternoon and make it 3-1. Despite skipper Lee Sweet finding himself in the sin bin for ten minutes, Ilminster comfortably saw out the remainer of the match as they won their second away match in a row to push them up towards the top of the early season table.
Harry Manley who had an excellent match with his two goals a bonus was player of the match, Neil Martin, Braedan Symes and the hard-working Phillips were also on top form.
