The business end of the season is well and truly starting to edge closer with no teams affording to drop points at the top of the table Ilminster took the trip to Bickleigh looking for an important 3 points.
Bickleigh whom at the start of the day sat 3rd from bottom of the division started the game the brighter but excellent work from top goal scorer Warren Gabbidon opened the scoring to make it 0-1 to the visitors.
Ilminster adapting to Bickleigh's attacking formation grew into the game and with superb link up play down the flanks could of easily ended up 3/4 up although the first half ended 0-1 to the boys in blue.
No half time substitutes and knowing the 2nd goal in the game was crucial, Ilminster started poorly and was unable to strong two passes together, Bickleigh took full advantage and levelled things up to make it 1-1.
It wasn't long before the determined hosts added a 2nd to make it 2-1 and a depleted Ilminster had it all to do.
Igor Costa was introduced to the game and made a perfect impact scoring within 2 minutes of being on the field. (How we miss him when he can't play) 2-2.
The Bickleigh pitch was starting to badly deteriorate but Ilminster raised there game and an much improved winger David Pereira found the net for the 2nd game in a row to take the lead. 3-2
A resilient and battling Ilminster was able to see out the game and taken all 3 points to maintain the push for promotion.
A special mention for Flávio Ribeiro who at 16 years of age was absolutely brilliant in central midfield, a real prospect!
